The European Health Public Procurement Alliance (EHPPA) is an alliance of non-profit Group Procurement Organizations founded in 2012. It is a registered association under French law with their headquarter in Paris.
2. What market do they cover and what is their procurement volume?
Their members represent >1000 hospitals and care institutions with a procurement volume of > €15 billion per year.
The EHPPA is composed by 10 procurement organizations representing the following 10 European countries
- Belgium
- Portugal
- Denmark
- Spain
- France
- Switzerland
- Italy
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- The United Kingdom
Each country is represented exclusively by one-member association; EHPPA thus covers around 80% of the Western European market.
3. What are their objectives?
EHPPA has the following objectives:
- to pool expertise, leverage performance and provide its members with a strategic position in the European health procurement market
- to become more and more a privileged partner for the EU and to focus on healthcare procurement and healthcare innovation strategy into EU politics by participating in common workgroups
- sharing experience with EU-commission-directorates linked direct or indirect to healthcare subjects and sustaining start-up ideas
